Kiefer Sutherland Discusses the ‘Danger’ of Criminal Charges Before His Arrest

Kiefer Sutherland Discusses the ‘Danger’ of Criminal Charges Before His Arrest

Strange things happen in the reel life of “24,” but could Kiefer Sutherland have jinxed his real life as well?

Sutherland was a hit at the FOX Fall TV Launch Party at Los Angeles’ Area Nightclub on Monday night as he worked the crowd, but the screen star might have jinxed himself with talk of criminal charges for characters on the show.

Sutherland was arrested post-party in West Hollywood at 1.30 a.m. Tuesday — where, according to the LAPD police report, he was at twice the legal alcohol limit of 0.08.It’s the second DUI charge for the small-screen sensation, who was initially arrested in November 2004 after blowing a big .22 blood-alcohol reading.

Sutherland did catch up with FOX on the red carpet prior to entering the party palace, revealing some scandalous secrets about the upcoming season of “24.”

“The whole tone of the show is changed just because CTU is under investigation by the Senate, and criminal charges are in danger of being filed,” Sutherland said. “It sets a tone for all of the characters that are left that actually have come back from CTU in a very defensive posture, which is very different for the show.”

Video: Chatting With Kiefer

So if Sutherland was able to engage in a little foreshadowing, is he also able to accurately predict results of the 2008 presidential election?

“This season has also opened up a monumental cast shift for us, and we’ve had some great people come in. We have a female president which is a huge tonal shift,” he said. But it seems as though Kiefer himself may soon be slapped with a “huge tonal shift” in terms of his personal residence — with the very real possibility of a move to a jail cell. Kiefer has violated the 5-year probation he was placed on following his first arrest, and the judge in that case was Michael Sauer (Yes! The one who sent Paris Hilton into the hothouse after she drove on a suspended license).

Insiders confirmed to FOXNews.com that Kiefer was offered a driver to take him to and from various venues on Monday evening, but he declined the offer. So why do stars such as Sutherland, Hilton, Nicole Richie and Lindsay Lohan (who all have beyond bountiful bank balances) refuse a chauffeur?

“Power and delusion … Kiefer, after all, is ’24′’s Jack Bauer — he breaks all the rules and always gets away with it,” suggested Patrick Wanis, an expert in celebrity behavior.

“It is highly plausible that after someone lives and breathes a character for seven seasons that at some level, he will begin to take on many of the characteristics and traits of the character … Any behavior expert will tell you that the more you act out a behavior and emotion, the more you will become it.”

Jack Bauer/ Keifer Sutherland busted for DUI

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

Hollie Mckay, a reporter from FOX News asked Celebrity Life Coach and Human Behavior Expert, Patrick Wanis:

“Why don’t they get drivers…Keifer Sutherland was offered a driver beforehand but said no… why do all these celebs risk it and get caught?”

Patrick Wanis responds:

Power and delusion….they believe their own press…Keifer Sutherland, after all, is 24’s Jack Bauer – he breaks all the rules and always gets away with it…it is highly plausible that after someone lives and breathes a character for 7 seasons, at some level, he will begin to take on many of the characteristics and traits of the character…where does the line between Bauer and Keifer begin and end? Remember, too, he is playing a drama that requires depth and intensity of emotion. Any behavior expert will tell you that the more you act out a behavior and emotion, the more you will become it…that is how we program ourselves…it is the same way we take on a habit and break/replace a habit…

Britney gets closer to OJ and Michael Vick

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

“Just like OJ and Michael Vick, Britney Spears is now another celebrity that is sabotaging her own success and life,” according to Celebrity Life Coach and Author of “Get the Man You Want” Patrick Wanis.

“When someone subconsciously believes that he or she doesn’t deserve the success or fame then she will sabotage it” says Wanis. “And where there is a belief that “bad actions need to be punished”, in some cases, such as OJ Simpson and now Britney, subconscious guilt can lead to creating situations where you will be caught and punished.”   Continue reading “Britney gets closer to OJ and Michael Vick” »

Britney can’t run away from herself

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

No matter how hard she tries or how much power she wields, Britney can’t run away from herself – or the police,” according to Celebrity Life Coach and Author Patrick Wanis.

“For Britney Spears the trouble seems like it simply won’t end because she is out of emotional control and her self-sabotaging behavior is catching up to her” says Wanis. “The people closest to her just don’t get it that she is crying out for help. She has been screaming for help since the time she shaved her head.” Now she is facing possible jail time after being charged with misdemeanor counts of hit and run and driving without a valid license after she allegedly smashed her car into another in a parking lot in August.

“Britney is out of emotional control and is living in her own world”, says Wanis. “Britney continues to engage in self-destructive and self-sabotaging behavior…part of that is subconscious sabotage and part of that is due to her sense of entitlement and irresponsibility. Britney has no idea of responsibility or accountability. She can’t nurture, protect or care for herself, so how can she nurture, protect or care for her children. She is still a child trying to raise children but because she refuses to acknowledge how irresponsible her behavior is and how detrimental it is to her children’s long-term emotional and mental health, she thinks that K-Fed is worse than her and less of a father than she is a mother. She feels a sense of entitlement and power because of her celebrity status – which also explains her behavior and response to the car accident, her lewd behavior, and her almost complete apathy on stage at the MTV awards.”

Wanis says, “Unfortunately, Britney is not getting the real help that she needs and that will never happen until she decides she wants to get better and face her deeper pain.”

Can you change someone else?

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

In this Success Newsletter, I would like to talk about change: is it possible for someone to change?  For my regular readers please remember to forward this to everyone you think might benefit from it.

First a quick update:

·         The Montel show is looking for a family that wants to save its marriage and is willing to do what it takes. Montel is offering a unique opportunity to get the help by having me live in your house for five days, working and coaching every member of the family. If you or someone you know is interested email tv@patrickwanis.com ·         I am presenting a phone seminar for Peak Potentials Training Tuesday September 25 at 7 PM New York time: “The Secret to Get What You Truly Deserve.” The phone seminar is a gift – no cost. You just pay the cost of a long-distance call. Now let’s talk about change: is it possible for someone to change?

In my book, “Get the Man You Want”  http://patrickwanis.com/GetTheManYouWant.asp  I explain that women generally fall in love with the potential of a man (hoping he will grow, evolve and change) while men generally fall in love with a woman the way she is and expect her to remain the same forever (physically, mentally and emotionally.) Thus many men and women become disillusioned and disappointed when their partner changes or fails to change. One of our greatest disappointments in life is our expectation of others: wanting them to be better: to be, do or have something more or wanting them to be forever happy with the status quo.   Continue reading “Can you change someone else?” »

Patrick Wanis affects people mocking Britney

Britney Spears and the Heart of God

Posted by: Josh

OK, so last week I was one of the many making fun of Britney Spears. I was laughing inside (mostly inside) at how far this celebrity had fallen. I think there are a lot of people who love to see someone who has everything fall so completely. Sarah Silverman certainly took the opportunity to remind us all that Brittney wasn’t perfect, which somehow makes us feel a little better about ourselves.

That was before I read the following quote: “Patrick Wanis, a human behavior and relationship expert, said… ‘She is subconsciously sabotaging her success… Remember, this girl has been through a lot and she doesn’t have a support base. It’s not about not having a manager — it’s about not having your family and real friends beside you.’” (Fox News)

In that moment, I suddenly had a glimpse of the way God sees Brittney Spears. God is supremely confident in who He is. He doesn’t need to see celebrities fail to feel better about Himself. Instead, He sees in Britney a person who is so very alone, desperate, and hurting. It’s because of the pain she feels and her lack of a support base that she has been acting like she has recently. It is because of the emptiness that is inside, despite all she has, that she has been losing control.

Conviction settled in. How could I have been laughing at this daughter of God? How could I have gotten a smile out of her pain? God, I am sorry. Church, I am sorry. Britney, I am sorry. But because of your pain I have been brought closer to the heart of God.

Britney Spears’ Crummy ‘Comeback’ Comes as No Surprise to Insiders

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

From Foxnews online:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,296287,00.html

LOS ANGELES —

While music moguls and flocks of fans feel flabbergasted by Britney Spears‘ somber return to the stage, those close to Spears are not surprised by her strange spectacle on Sunday night.

According to an insider who used to work closely with the “Crazy” crooner, Spears’ behavior has been bizarre for quite some time.

“I wasn’t surprised when I watched her on the awards show,” said the former Britney employee who asked to remain anonymous. “You never know what Britney will do. One minute she’d want her hair black, then blond, then she’d make the stylist cut it short, then scream for hair extensions. She would order a chicken burger, then cry and demand a pizza or if she ordered a hot coffee suddenly she’d demand that it be an iced tea.”

The source also splurged that Spears’ mood often would suddenly switch in split seconds from smiles to sobs.

But is Britney to blame for her poor performance, or was she used and abused for ratings by MTV?

Apparently, Spears broke down both before and after her problematic performance. And although MTV didn’t return calls for comment, a Britney back-up dancer divulged that she wasn’t exactly remarkable in the rehearsal room, either.

“Britney never did the routine all-out. She just blocked it. I think that was the problem — she got out there on stage and coupled with nerves Britney just didn’t know how to do it properly. MTV was well aware she wasn’t up to it,” the insider told FOXNews.com.

And Spears reportedly was drinking margaritas while rehearsing her performance this weekend.

The New York Post’s Page Six gossip column and others report that Britney showed up to her Saturday rehearsal hours late, and she did it “with a frozen margarita in her hand.”

MTV reportedly ditched Britney’s original performance at the last minute, and perhaps her well-documented collaboration with illusionist Criss Angel became a disappearing act because he knew it was going to fail.

“In the initial meetings that we had, I gave my professional creative advice,” the magic man told “Extra.” “But I stepped out of the picture.”

Patrick Wanis, a human behavior and relationship expert, said it seemed as if Britney were on some sort of sedative and said her behavior was a “display of complete apathy.”

“She is subconsciously sabotaging her success,” Wanis said. “Remember, this girl has been through a lot and she doesn’t have a support base. It’s not about not having a good manager — it’s about not having your family and real friends beside you.”

But one thing MTV definitely isn’t to blame for is the barely there bikini that revealed all of Britney’s bulges.

“Britney really wanted to wear that. Everyone in wardrobe advised her against it, but she had her mind made up,” the insider added. “It’s like she’s still clinging to who she was five years ago.”

And Spears reportedly “forgot” to wear underwear yet again on Sunday night, revealing all as she emerged from a limo at the Luxor Hotel. Some speculated that photos on the Web could have been Photoshopped.
