Dear Bob,

I stated clearly that Jared Lee Loughner has mental problems based on what we know, and I said that he failed to get professional help and that school officials could not force him to do so. I also referred to him as the alleged shooter until such time as he is tried and convicted; legally I must do so. Remember, too, please that sometimes rush and rash reporting by the media can give us false information i.e. on the day of the shooting it was believed that Loughner had an accomplice which we now know not to be true.
