The press release further below “Is Sarah Palin seducing America?” created a storm. Some journalists and reporters found it to be insightful while others were offended:

“I find your description of Hillary Clinton offensive. Don’t send me this sort of biased material please. I agree with what you say about Palin but not Clinton.”  -Pati Gras Senior Producer and Host Houston PBS

“I find this extraordinarily offensive and insulting. This is not news. You are contributing to the dumbing-down of America.”  -Elaine Appleton Grant, Writer/Editor

“How refreshing! I am fascinated by psychology, so I found your press release/pitch very interesting. .. At the very least I forwarded it to my husband because it will spark a fun discussion on his psyche over dinner tonight!”   -Julie Sturgeon CEO Editor

“I’m a political mommy blogger – on the liberal side – I thought it was interesting. “  – Diane Lore

Response from Patrick Wanis PhD:

“It does not surprise me that some people would be offended by my comments and perspective in the press release below because they represent the truth and the truth often shocks people. My insights into Sarah Palin’s instant appeal do not reflect nor originate from any political perspective or bias. I am offering the point of view of someone who studies human behavior and explains the psychological reasons why America is seduced by Sarah Palin and the differences between her and Hilary Clinton. I am not saying that Palin is smarter, more intelligent or better qualified for the position than Clinton. But I am saying that America likes Palin more and men have warmed up to her in a sexual way that they never did with Clinton.

Those journalists and reporters are actually projecting onto me their anger at the American people. The point that Sarah Palin is seducing America in a way that Hilary Clinton never did is supported by the fact and announcement  that already US companies are merchandising and cashing on the Palin fad and frenzy and notice that they are producing sexually charged products which they didn’t do with Hilary Clinton:

From action figures to baby bibs to thong underwear sporting an image of a pit bull wearing lipstick, Palin’s newfound fame as John McCain’s running mate has sparked a marketing frenzy.

“We’ve received thousands of orders for the Palin figures,” Emile Vicale, president of Herobuilders, told FOXNews.com.“We respond to trends immediately. We don’t have to wait for China to produce them anymore,” he said, noting that the Palin action hero was the most popular of the three models.

Speaking of the Palin figurines, Vicale said, “we decided to give her three different personas.” He said the Palin figurine wearing a business suit was meant to highlight her role as governor.

The scantily clad schoolgirl figure of Palin “was a bit more risky,” he said.

“Whenever you talk to one of my guy friends, the only thing that comes out of their mouths is, ‘She’s hot,’” he added.

And to those reporters who believe my comments are “contributing to the dumbing down of America”, I suggest you consider where your anger is really coming from: you are angry at America for liking, loving and going crazy over Palin. You are angry that men find her sexually appealing. Did you also get angry over the women who found Obama sexy or the women who found Bill Clinton or Ronald Reagan sexy? I have no control over people’s responses to Palin. And whether you like it or not, Palin is presently a celebrity with rock star status.

As I am writing this I just received another comment from a 46 year-old male in the showbiz industry who incidentally is a Democrat who writes:

“I was thinking last night about why I like her [Palin]…she is sweet, has a solid marriage, is sexy and I would like to invite her over for dinner.”

I have noticed that with the exception of one male, all the reporters who were offended were women. To the ladies that were offended, I cannot apologize for the actions of men. I can only offer explanations. And yes, there are many women who aspire to be like Sarah Palin, whether you like it or not, and whether it disgusts you or not.  Whether people are justified or plain stupid for liking Sarah Palin, right or wrong, that’s the way it is.

Finally, in an interview I gave Tuesday September 09, 2008 to XM Radio’s show “Broadminded” which is a show hosted by three women who agreed that we all (men and women) too often act vainly by being first attracted by physical appearance, I predicted that soon American opinion will sway against Sarah Palin. And notice I gave my prediction  three days prior to Sarah Palin’s interview with ABC’s Charlie Gibbons…“

Now here is controversial Press Release:

Almost overnight, Republican Vice-Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin appears to have taken America by storm. What is the secret to her sudden popularity?

“Sarah Palin represents what many women would aspire to be in the 21s century and she has a unique appeal to men” according to Patrick Wanis PhD, Human Behavior Expert and Clinical Hypnotherapist. “Sarah has the beauty, intelligence, success, femininity and charisma all wrapped in one”, says Wanis.

“Republican Presidential Candidate John McCain may have picked Sarah Palin as a way to appeal to female voters, but polls show that more men than women like Sarah Palin. The male brain is primarily stimulated visually, but also both genders respond and are sensitive to visual beauty” reveals Wanis.

“Recall the strong appeal to women by handsome and charismatic US Presidents Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton. Now men have their own potential female vice-president to fantasize over. Sarah Palin is a former beauty queen who still looks attractive, healthy and sexy; her face has a beautiful glow. Palin is feminine, mysterious, homey and appears sincere. Palin doesn’t try to be masculine. She competes on her own terms. So why didn’t Hilary Clinton have the same “male-fantasy” effect? Hilary Clinton was harsh, cold and exuded more masculinity than femininity. Hilary Clinton gave off a subconscious vibe of being a bitter, cold and jaded woman. Palin seems fresh, with a down to earth organic image that makes her approachable and relatable to the American public. She particularly appeals to women because she appears as the everyday mother with a family but, is also intelligent and successful in a man’s world – politics, and she has more power than her husband.”

“Although Palin, like Barrack Obama is charismatic, articulate, a good speaker and exudes confidence and courage, it is her overall sex appeal, freshness and femininity that is seductive to men. While it is uncertain how long the honeymoon with male America will last, for now just like Barrack Obama, Sarah Palin is a rock star and a celebrity”, concludes Wanis.
