The Top 10 Celebrity Meltdowns of 2017

The Top 10 Celebrity Meltdowns of 2017
The Top 10 Celebrity Meltdowns of 2017 – MSNBC Anchor Lawrence O’Donnell at No. 3

It’s the eleventh annual list of bad behavior, stupidity, temper tantrums, emotional breakdowns, public outbursts, infidelity, drunken binges…and more.

I have left out the criminal behavior of celebrities who were accused of sexual harassment, groping, assault or rape.

Here is a sample of the celebrity meltdowns and bad behavior of 2017: telling a reporter “There is no me”, cheating on your wife who was the woman with whom you cheated on your last wife; getting banned from a news channel for lewd behavior with their staff in their offices; crying that you’re not going to survive the prison sentence for committing bankruptcy fraud, and; telling a fan “You make me sick.”

Can you guess who had the number 1 celebrity meltdown of 2017?

10. Justin Bieber/Alec Baldwin
It’s the fans that make you famous; it’s the fans that ultimately pay for your stardom. Justin Biever forgets that. Bieber has had various struggles with fans, and in Australia he humiliated a fan when she tried to take a selfie with him: “Look at you,” Bieber responds, while sucking on a lollipop. “You make me sick.”

Alec Baldwin ties with Bieber for stupid, uncontrollable words and tantrums. In 2013, Baldwin made it onto my list for making a homophobic slur, being accused of abusive behavior towards his staff resulting in the cancellation of his MSNBC show; in 2011, he made the list for refusing to turn off his electronics prior to fight takeoff, and in 2007, he made the meltdown list for calling his 11-year old daughter “thoughtless little pig,” threatening to “straighten your ass out when I see you.”

In 2017, Baldwin had an altercation with police in New York City for the way he arrogantly responded to police when they stopped him for riding a bike the wrong way. “I don’t have identification. Just give me the f****** summons” and “wrap this summons around your head.”

Baldwin also admitted in 2017: “I certainly have treated women in a very sexist way. I’ve bullied women. I’ve overlooked women. I’ve underestimated women.”

9. Shia LaBeouf
LaBeouf has been in trouble before: in 2014, he was also number 9 on my list of top ten celebrity meltdowns when he disturbed the Broadway musical “Cabaret” and as he was escorted out in handcuffs by police, he angrily and arrogantly shouted: “Do you know who the f… I am?”

In 2017, LaBeouff admitted he is struggling with addiction after he was arrested for public intoxication, disorderly conduct; he also told a black police officer in front of a white officer that he will go to hell because of his skin color.

8. Kevin Hart
In July 2017, Hart denied claims that he cheated on his wife, Eniko Parrish, who was the woman with whom he cheated on his previous wife Torrei Hart. In fact, Hart claimed that he was a victim of an extortion attempt over photos taken without his knowledge in a Las Vegas hotel room with another woman.

In December, Hart came clean and admitted he had cheated on his then pregnant wife Eniko Parrish!

Hart’s behavior is best summed up by the title of his live tour – “Kevin Hart: The Irresponsible Tour.”

7. Artie Lange
Lange became famous for making fun of other people on the Howard Stern show; now the comedian isn’t finding life quite so funny. Back in May 2017, Lange was arrested and expected to face charges of heroin possession and drug paraphernalia. In December 2017, Lange pleaded guilty to possessing 81 small bags of heroin. Lange is now checking into rehab.

6. Quentin Tarantino
“For the last week I’ve been stunned and heartbroken about the revelations that have come to light about my friend for 25 years Harvey Weinstein [accused of sexual assault & rape spanning decades],” famous movie director Quentin Tarantino said in a statement tweeted by Amber Tamblyn on October 13, 2017.

Taratino added he would need a week to think about his response; I called Tarantino a liar. How can Tarantino be friends with Weinstein for 25 years and work together on multiple movies and not know anything about Weinstein’s behavior?
On October 19, Tarantino admitted he lied and that he knew of multiple episodes: “I knew enough to do more than I did. There was more to it than just the normal rumors, the normal gossip. It wasn’t secondhand. I knew he did a couple of these things.”

Tarantino was more concerned about his movies, career and finances than he was about protecting women from a sexual predator!

5. Gene Simmons
The former rock star of KISS is famous for sticking his tongue out, but he allegedly did much more at FOX News following the recording of a segment to promote his new book. Simmons allegedly stormed into a staff meeting, pulled open his red velvet shirt to reveal his chest and belly, told Michael Jackson pedophilia jokes and made weird comments about female staffer’s intelligence while hitting them on the head with his new book. Simmons has been banned for life from Fox News! Further, Simmons is now being sued on charges of sexual battery, following an incident that took place last month where he allegedly groped a woman.

4. Abby Lee Miller
Like so many celebrities who get caught doing something bad, the Dance Moms Star, Abby Lee Miller cried foul after committing bankruptcy fraud. Instead of accepting responsibility, Miller who actually pled guilty to committing fraud, decided to play victim saying, “Well, like I teach my kids, life is not fair.” Miller was charged with 20 counts of bankruptcy fraud, and concealing assets. “I probably won’t survive [prison]” Miller cried during an interview.

She quickly quit the TV series and is now serving her one-year prison sentence in California.

3. Lawrence O’Donnell
News anchors exude a sense of calm, self-assuredness and poise. Not so on this occasion: MSNBC anchor Lawrence O’Donnell was recording news segments when he flipped out over “crazy sounds coming in my ear and stupid hammering.” O’Donnell banged the table, cussed, shouted and ranted at the crew for 8 minutes. The full recording was leaked for millions to watch online.

2. Jim Carrey
“I don’t believe you exist, but there’s a wonderful fragrance in the air” Jim Carrey told a female reporter at New York Fashion Week as he paced and circled her numerous times.

That was a small portion of the bizarre commentary and responses by Jim Carrey who also added “There is no me” when speaking about himself. Carrey also said the NY fashion event is meaningless and yet he gave it meaning by attending it and by giving interviews about it.

Carrey revealed in another interview that Jim Carrey never existed, and in yet another interview stated that when he was making the movie “Man on The Moon” about comedian Andy Kauffman: “I thought I had become Andy Kauffman but there was no me actually at the end of it all. I realized this character was making choices to play a character.”

Although it can be argued that Carrey is going through an existential crisis or discovery with his claims that life can be shallow and irrelevant and that he is simply done with the Hollywood make believe, he does not appear to be at peace in the various interviews he gave in 2017, and in some interviews seems to be in a lot of pain with sadness, suffering, seemingly lost.

Carrey actually appears to be disassociated or disconnected from reality and perhaps that is due to the suffering he has experienced since September 2015 when his ex-girlfriend Cathriona White committed suicide by drug overdose.
Carrey is now embroiled in a wrongful death lawsuit over the White’s suicide facing accusations he supplied White with prescription drugs and he gave her multiple STDs. Carrey is counter suing and the trial begins in April 2018. Finally, if as Carrey suggests, he does not exist and neither does anyone else, then why bother counter suing anyone?

1. Kathy Griffin
2017 was the year where many comedians did things that simply were not funny or worse were beyond offensive: Artie Lange got caught with 81 bags of heroin, Jim Carrey argued that he doesn’t actually exist, Kevin Hart lied about cheating on his pregnant wife, and Kathy Griffin shocked and offended an entire nation.

Comedian Kathy Griffin is the number one celebrity meltdown of 2017 after she posed in a photo holding a replica of President Donald Trump’s bloodied, decapitated head in her hand.

Griffin was quickly fired by CNN from co-hosting its New Year’s Eve special with Anderson Cooper, and her subsequent comedy tour dates were also canceled.

Griffin apologized saying, “I am just now seeing the reaction of these images. … I went way too far. The image is too disturbing. I understand how it offends people. It wasn’t funny. I get it.”

However, Griffin negated the apology and chose to play the victim herself, crying during a press conference and accusing President Trump of being a bully, “trying to ruin my life forever” and concluding that Trump “broke me.”
