The Secret to Really Value Yourself

Secret to greater value

Secret to greater value

In this Success Newsletter, I would like to talk about how to change for the better, your beliefs about your self-worth, value and appreciation.

First a quick update:
I recently gave a powerfully insightful interview on the Law of Deservedness -You can listen to it here  and I recently gave three phenomenal and controversial podcast interviews to Jim Peake on sexuality, Law of Deservedness, and The Secret. You can listen to them at I am featured on the home page this week.

Now let’s talk about value. What are you worth? Have you ever sat down to write what is your worth?

I am not referring to the amount of money and financial wealth you have amassed. I am referring to your inner value. Your outer world reflects your inner world. In other words, if you are not getting what you want or are not being treated the way you would like to be, the problem is what you believe about yourself.

Don’t just scream out loud, “I deserve to be treated with love and respect…” This is often just a reflection of desperation, frustration and self-doubt.

Instead, here is an exercise I recommend:

Take time to relax and dim the lights. Imagine that you are speaking to the younger you (you as a child.) What can you tell him or her about her worth and value? Avoid just saying “you deserve the best.” State the reasons why he or she deserves the best. State his or her inner qualities, gifts and talents. Spend time considering everything that is good, magical and wondrous about the younger you. If you find it hard to come up with answers then you are now becoming aware of some of the blocks. As you repeat this exercise, you should be able to come up with more than fifty reasons why you are worthy, special and valuable e.g. you are funny, kind, playful, thoughtful, sincere, loving, intelligent, curious, friendly, popular, lively, energetic, honest, a good listener and friend, loyal, sensitive, deep, cute, handsome, beautiful, giving, generous, a child of God, created perfectly, etc. You can also write this exercise and add to the list each time you do the exercise.

If you come up with negative feelings or negative traits, then explore the reasons and forgive the child, forgive yourself. For example, let’s say you feel that you were a bad child, you were angry or stole or people didn’t listen to you or you didn’t feel free and safe to express yourself. Explore why you acted this way or why people treated you poorly. Begin to understand that we are all human beings, imperfect and make mistakes. Explore the reasons why your parents or others treated you this way. In my Hypnosis CD, “Be happy, rich & wealthy” I explain it this way:

“You now realize that we are all imperfect. We all make mistakes. You realize that person did the best they could at the time because they just didn’t know any better. They had their own issues and challenges. They responded based only on what they knew and had experienced in their life. It had nothing to do with you. You did the best you could at the time with the knowledge and understanding you had at the time. You are innocent.  You are fine just the way you are. You are good enough. You deserve the best.”

You can now choose to forgive him or her for anything they may have said to you or whatever they did or didn’t do or, and you can choose to forgive yourself. You can release now the pain, suffering and hurt.

As you repeat this exercise, continue to build and grow your list of your inner values, self-worth and qualities. Read and speak them out aloud daily.
